Goodbye Presley

I knew this day would come but I still wasn’t ready for it. My pug, Presley, passed away this morning at home. She was 15. To say that she was a lifesaver for me is not an exaggeration. A friend from work offered her to us in April of 2002. In late 2001 I had lost my father to heart disease and was far from recovered from that trauma the following spring.

Presley injected our family with an abundance of energy and life over the next several years and was truly man’s best friend. The early 2000’s were tough for me as I struggled to overcome problems with addiction. Presley was always by my side through the worst that those years could bring us. She was the constant in life. She was always there for me and cared for me like no one else could.

She brought countless smiles to our faces through some very difficult times. She’s only been gone a few hours, but still I miss her so much. I can’t imagine what life will be like without her, but I guess we’ll have to find out. Thank you Presley for being the most loyal friend I could have ever had.
